Star participants of the World Cup in Baku

The Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling World Cup, set to take place in Baku in 2025, will be the first major challenge for athletes in these disciplines. Gymnasts from 16 countries will participate in the competition, with the Azerbaijani National Team competing in both disciplines.

In Trampoline Gymnastics, Azerbaijan will be represented by Selcan Mahsudova, Ali Niftaliyev, Mehdi Aliyev, Shafiga Humbatova and Nijat Mirzayev. For the first time in the competition's history, Mixed Pairs will compete in the synchronized program, marking a historic moment at the National Gymnastics Arena. Selcan Mahsudova and Ali Niftaliyev will compete as a Mixed Pair in the synchronized program. Selcan is already an experienced athlete—she participated in the Paris Summer Olympic Games, becoming the first Azerbaijani female gymnast to represent the country in Trampoline Gymnastics at the Olympics. Another Mixed Pair, Shafiga Humbatova and Nijat Mirzayev, will also compete.

Many renowned athletes will take part in the World Cup. Among them is Ivan Litvinovich from Belarus, a two-time Olympic champion, two-time World Champion and European Championship winner, who will compete under a neutral flag. Also coming to Baku is Violetta Bordilovskaya, the Silver Medalist of the Paris Olympics from Belarus and Angela Blagova from Russia, who also participated in the same Olympics and will compete under a neutral flag.

Among the main favorites are both male and female gymnasts from Japan. The team includes six-time World Champion Hikaru Mori, as well as Ryusei Nishioka, who won a Bronze Medal at the World Championships in Birmingham. Other Japanese athletes competing in Baku include Yusei Matsumoto, Hayato Miano, Daiki Kishi, Saki Tanaka, Ena Sakurai and Kiko Tanaka.

In Tumbling, Azerbaijan will be represented by Tofig Aliyev, Adil Hajizade, Hussein Asadullayev and Aleksey Karatashov. As team champions of the World and European Championships, Tofig Aliyev and Adil Hajizade are among the top favorites in the competition. Unfortunately, one of the National Team’s leading members, World Champion Mikhail Malkin, will miss the tournament due to injury. However, young athletes Hussein Asadullayev and Aleksey Karatashov will strive to showcase their skills and compete against the favorites.

The competition for medals will also feature athletes from the United States. The US team includes experienced gymnasts such as Khavier Harper, James-Alekhander Pelezo, Bailey Mensah and Amar Yoker. Unfortunately, well-known American gymnast Kayden Brown, who has previously won in Baku, will not participate in this tournament. His performances in the medal race have always been highly anticipated by spectators.

Gymnasts from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Algeria will also participate in the tournament. A fierce and exciting competition awaits and everyone is eagerly anticipating this major sporting event taking place once again in our capital.
