The Bronze hat-trick from our Junior Team in Group Exercises

The world’s strongest & most promising junior gymnasts gathered at the 2nd FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior World Championships held in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) on July 7-9. The Championships, which was held with the participation of more than 300 gymnasts from 37 countries, has come an to end with a historic achievement for the Azerbaijani National Team. At the competition, our country was represented by gymnasts in the Individual program - Shams Aghahuseynova, Nuray Ahmadzada, Nazrin Abdullayeva & the members of the Team in Group Exercises consisting of Govhar Ibrahimova, Sakinakhanim Ismayilzada, Madina Aslanova, Ilaha Bahadirova, Ayan Sadigova & Zahra Jafarova. The second day of the competition was remembered with the “Bronze” of our National Team in Group Exercises. Thus, our Team in Group Exercises was awarded with the Bronze medal in the All-Around (59,400) at the Junior Worlds for the first time in history of the Azerbaijani Gymnastics. Our team in group exercises also qualified for the Finals in separate Apparatus (5 Balls / 5 Ropes). Our junior gymnasts made the fans happy with two more medals in the Finals held on the last day of the Championships. First, demonstrating their program with 5 Ropes, our representatives grabbed the Bronze medal (29,000 points). Members of our Team managed to repeat the same success with 5 Balls (30,150 points). Representatives of the Azerbaijani Team in the Individual program - Nuray Ahmadzada took the 9th place with a Ribbon (27,350 points), Nazrin Abdullayeva was the 11th with Clubs (27,000 points), while Shams Aghahuseynova ranked 13th with a Hoop (25,700 points).
It should be mentioned that the first Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior World Championships was held in Moscow in 2019. Our Rhythmic gymnast - Arzu Jalilova (individual program) - won the “Silver” with a Ball, while she grabbed “Bronze” with a Rope at that competition.
