On January 16, the "Nutcracker" New Year Show took place at the National Gymnastics Arena, immersing children in a magical world of adventure and fantasy.
The event began with piano performances by Sevda Mahmudova and Gulkhanim Bayramova, both of whom have represented Azerbaijan in international competitions. This was followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and the victims of the “Embraer 190” passenger plane crash on the Baku-Grozny flight operated by Azerbaijan Airlines.
The show opened with an exhibition performance by Special Olympics gymnasts. Artistic gymnast Mehriban Tağıyeva, a gold and bronze medalist of the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, along with Special Olympics athlete Farid Ojiyev, captivated the audience with their impressive routines.
The fusion of gymnastics elements with enchanting music created a true festive atmosphere. The carefully choreographed and artistically designed program mesmerized both children and adults with its vibrant colors and dynamic performances. The storyline was crafted under the guidance of AGF choreographers Kamil Guliyev and Akif Karimli.
The plot follows a young girl named Klara, who receives a mysterious box without a key from her father. This leads her to a strange world known as the Four Realms, where she discovers that her mother once ruled over these lands. However, the world is now in chaos, with a power struggle among leaders, including the Sugar Plum Fairy. Teaming up with the Nutcracker, Klara embarks on a journey to find the missing key, inviting the audience to join them in this magical adventure.
Throughout the show, children not only witnessed breathtaking performances but also engaged in special interactive programs and games, making their experience even more unforgettable. The event was completed with a shower of balloons, leaving the audience with cherished memories of a truly spectacular celebration.
