GROUP TEAM BECOMES THE 3RD IN THE TOURNAMENT IN POLAND

A group team of Azerbaijan has become a bronze medalist of the “Baltic Cup” international tournament held in Poland.

According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, the collective consisting of Vafa Huseynova, Valeriya Yegay, Anastasiya Prasolova, Dina Gorina, Jeyla Guliyeva and Nigar Mirzayeva won the third place in the final of exercises with 3 ribbons and 2 ropes. Our bronze medalists lost only to Russians and the floor’s hostess.

According to the head coach of the country’s national team in rhythmic gymnastics, the team looked more accurate in a mixed exercise and managed to take the lead over the gymnasts from Israel.

“I would like to say that the judges, as well as the viewers like our compositions; they are cheerful and lively. However, the gymnasts’ execution of the elements is not precise enough for the time being, and, we, the coaches, will eliminate them. Before the World Championships to be held in Japan in September, I intend to take part in the training camp in a well-known “Levski” club in Sofia in the course of one and a half month with a continuation of trainings at the “Mladost” hall of the Black Sea resort, Burgas. And before the training camp and after it, the team will perform in the tournament in Amsterdam and World Cup series in Minsk,” the head coach stated.

Samira Mustafayeva, taking part in the individual tournament, performed in two finals of the competition. She gave her best result with a ball – the 5th place, and she became the 8th with a rope. Samira took the 6th place in the all-around. The prize-winning places were taken by two gymnasts from Russia - Darya Yermakova and Yana Lukonina, and by a gymnast from Poland - Ioanna Mitrosh.
