From March 21 to 23, the most graceful representatives of gymnastics gathered at the National Gymnastics Arena, the beloved venue for gymnastics enthusiasts.
The competition brought together around 60 gymnasts from various clubs and sports schools, including Ocaq Sport Club, Baku Gymnastics School, Republican Complex Sports School, Grasiya Sports Club, Kur Olympic Training Sports Center, Ganja Olympic Sports Club, Zira Cultural Center, and Sumgait Olympic Sports Complex.
In the individual program, gymnasts competed for the championship title in different age categories:
Juniors born in 2011,
Young gymnasts born in 2009-2010,
Senior gymnasts born in 2008 and earlier.
Additionally, young gymnasts born in 2009-2011 participated in the group exercises program, performing routines with 5 hoops and 5 pairs of clubs.
The first two days of the competition featured the qualification rounds, determining the all-around champions in each age category. The medalists in the group exercises program among young gymnasts were also announced.
On the final day, juniors, young, and senior gymnasts competed in individual apparatus events, while young gymnasts continued their group exercises competition.
As always, the audience enthusiastically supported the gymnasts throughout the event. The energy from the spectators was evident in the confidence and motivation displayed by the athletes on the competition floor.
A special highlight of the competition was the opportunity for young and junior gymnasts to compete alongside Zohra Agamirova, an experienced gymnast and Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifier. This moment greatly boosted their confidence and determination.
The group exercises team, featuring Gullu Agalarzade, Leman Alimuradova, Kamilla Aliyeva, Zeynab Hummetova, Yelizaveta Luzan, and Darya Sorokina, captivated the audience with their spectacular performances. As the reigning European champions and World Championship bronze medalists, they delivered remarkable routines with 5 hoops and 3 ribbons + 2 balls, leaving a lasting impression on the spectators.
