HEAD COACH OF THE AZERBAIJANI NATIONAL TEAM IN RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS IS CONTENDED WITH RESULTS OF THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mariana Vasileva, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team in rhythmic gymnastics, is contended with the results showed at the European Championships.

“I am proud of our sportswomen and very contended with the results at the European Championships,” Vasileva said upon arrival of the Azerbaijani national team in Baku on Wednesday.

The Azerbaijani national team has won two medals at the European Championships in rhythmic gymnastics held in German Bremen – “silver” by Lala Yusifova in an exercise with a ball, and “bronze” by Aliya Garayeva in the all-around.

“Aliya Garayeva’s performance made everybody very happy on the Championship’s first day. She has won medals in separate apparatus so far, but, now, she won this medal in the all-around,” the coach said. On the second day, Lala Yusifova got the silver medal.”

According to the coach, Azerbaijani group teams also took the worthy places – the junior group team took the third place in the qualification for the Youth Olympic Games, and the senior group team took the 5-7th places at the finals with separate apparatus.

According to Vasileva, Azerbaijani team will intensively prepare for the World Championships to be held in late September.
