The international tournament in rhythmic gymnastics took place in the Italian city Prato.

At this competition, Azerbaijan was represented by a thirteen-year-old Lala Yusifova who made her debut on the international arena.

According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, she took the 8th place according to the results of the all-around program’s performances. In specialists’ opinion, Lala demonstrated especially successful performance with a ball.

It should be mentioned that the first three places were won by the gymnasts from Russia, Italy and Bulgaria.

This week, the country’s gymnasts will take part in 2 other tournaments. First of them (June 24-25) – one more juniors’ tournament and it will take place in Kislovodsk. Mansura Baghiyeva and Ekaterina Prokopenkpo (both born in 1997), as well as Sabina Gummatova (1999) will leave for the well-known Russian health resort.

The second competition will be organized for senior sportswomen. Holland is looking forward to receive the world’s best group teams – Amsterdam Masters will take place on June’s last week-end. An Azerbaijani group collective under the leadership of the national team’s head coach, Mariana Vasileva, will perform with two exercises: 5 hoops and 3 ribbons / 2 ropes.
