Historic days for Azerbaijani Acrobatic Gymnastics

Azerbaijan’s acrobatic gymnastics team made history with their outstanding performances at the World Championships held in Guimarães, Portugal, from September 19 to 22.
On the first day of the competition, Azerbaijani gymnasts achieved a historic milestone, securing second place in the team ranking for the first time ever. China won first place, while Israel finished third. The Men’s Pair – Murad Rafiyev & Daniel Abbasov, the Mixed Pair – Aghasif Rahimov & Raziya Seyidli and the Men’s Group – Seymur Jafarov, Rasul Seyidli, Riad Safarov and Abdullah Al-Mashaykhi delivered impressive performances, winning a Silver Medal for the team.
The second day of the World Championships was equally remarkable and historic. Azerbaijani gymnasts secured an incredible three Gold Medals in a single day. The Men’s Pair, Murad Rafiyev & Daniel Abbasov, stood out with two victories. They won Gold in the Dynamic exercise, scoring 28.500 points and repeated their success in the Balance exercise, earning 28.540 points.
Another Gold Medal was claimed in the Balance exercise by the Mixed Pair – Aghasif Rahimov & Raziya Seyidli, who topped the standings with 28.730 points. Meanwhile, the Men’s Group, consisting of Seymur Jafarov, Rasul Seyidli, Riad Safarov, and Abdullah Al-Mashaykhi, came close to the podium, finishing fifth in the Balance exercise final with 27.650 points.
