A historic victory in Men's Artistic Gymnastics

Another remarkable achievement has been engraved in the pages of our national gymnastics history! For the first time ever, independent Azerbaijan has won a medal in men's artistic gymnastics at the European Championships. This historic victory was achieved by our athlete, Nikita Simonov. He delivered an impressive performance in the rings final, scoring 14.900 points and securing the silver medal by placing second on the podium.

The European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held in Rimini, Italy, from April 24 to 28, also saw the participation of other members of our national team. In the senior category, Ivan Tikhonov (floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar), Mansum Safarov (floor exercise), Murad Agharzayev (floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, parallel bars), and Rasul Ahmadzada (floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, parallel bars, horizontal bar) competed. In the junior category, Aydin Alizade represented our country in the floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar events. Among these performances, the most outstanding result was achieved by Ivan Tikhonov.

Next week, our women's artistic gymnastics team will head to Rimini, Italy, the very place where we made history, to compete in the European Championships. We wish our national team great success in their performances!
