Our National Team in Men's Artistic Gymnastics will not participate in the European Championships to be held on December 9-13 in Mersin (Turkey) due to the fact that 3 members of the Azerbaijani National Teamhave been infected with coronavirus.

The entire delegation was tested for the coronavirus before leaving out for Mersin and the results of all members were negative. During the competitions held within the pandemic period, the Local Organizing Committee usually takes repeated tests. Unfortunately, 3 of our gymnasts tested positive in Mersin. At present, they are feeling well and will return to Baku after they have recovered.

Other members of our delegation will return to Baku and follow the quarantine regime, as the results of two tests taken in a row in Mersin were negative.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that both junior and senior athletes were infected and the gymnasts who tested negative were in contact with them, our National Team was obliged to withdraw from the competitions.

We wish our athletes a speedy recovery and hope that they will be successful at the European Championships to be held in Basel, Switzerland on April 21-25, 2021.
