An exciting competition comes to an end

Following the successful organization of the first international competition in trampoline gymnastics, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation kicked off the local season with the 7th Azerbaijan Championship and Baku Championship in Trampoline Gymnastics and the 19th in Tumbling.

The event took place on February 24 at the National Gymnastics Arena, bringing together 94 athletes (62 in trampoline gymnastics and 32 in tumbling) representing Ojaq Sport Club, its Gakh branch, the Baku Gymnastics School, Neftchi Sports Club, and the Specialized Olympic Reserve School No. 13 for Children and Youth.

In both disciplines, gymnasts competed in the individual program across various age categories: babies (born 2016–2017), children (2013–2015), pre-teens (2011–2012), juniors (2007–2010), and seniors (born in 2006 and earlier).

It is no coincidence that many athletes who go on to succeed at prestigious international competitions take their first steps in events like these. Local competitions not only serve as a launchpad for newcomers, but also offer valuable experience for more seasoned gymnasts as they prepare for upcoming tournaments.

It’s worth noting that athletes from the regions, alongside those from the capital, also took part in the Azerbaijan Championship.

It was particularly encouraging to see members of the Gakh branch of Ojaq Sport Club among the winners, which once again highlights the development of gymnastics not only in the capital but also across various regions of the country.

At the end of a thrilling contest, the strongest gymnasts in both trampoline and tumbling disciplines were determined.
