Azerbaijani gymnasts achieved an impressive result at the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships, held in Pamplona, Spain, from September 11 to 13.
Representing Azerbaijan in the mixed pair event, Madina Mustafayeva and Vladimir Dolmatov delivered an outstanding performance in the final, scoring 19.600 points to claim the silver medal, finishing just 0.1 points behind the winners.
In the mixed pair final, the gymnasts competing under the World Gymnastics flag claimed gold with 19.700 points. The Azerbaijani pair secured silver with 19.600 points, while the Italian representatives took bronze, also scoring 19.600 points.
The Azerbaijani pair, who are also European champions, advanced to the final after scoring 19.050 points in the qualification round. Delivering a confident performance in the final, they secured second place on the podium and earned their second World Championships silver medal in the mixed pair event. Notably, Mustafayeva and Dolmatov claimed their first World Championships silver medal in 2024.
The prestigious competition brought together more than 350 gymnasts from 38 countries, featuring some of the world's leading aerobic gymnasts.
By winning silver medals at two consecutive World Championships, Madina Mustafayeva and Vladimir Dolmatov once again demonstrated their consistency and ability to compete at the highest international level. Their achievement also reflects the continued development of aerobic gymnastics in Azerbaijan and further strengthens the country's presence on the international gymnastics stage.
