Our sportsmen’s resolute victories in Olympic Games, world and European championships have been highly assessed in the Olympic movement as an obvious example of the care shown toward sports in our republic, and has served the increase of our country’s popularity in the sphere of sport. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s constantly increasing influence in the world, its economic power, dynamic development, large-scale state-of-the-art infrastructure projects, existing public and political stability, as well as public support of reforms have played their essential role in this historical decision. Currently, Baku is one of the most beautiful cities of the world. In general, a modern sport infrastructure has been created in Azerbaijan and relevant processes are continuing in this sphere. All these give us great opportunities to hold the 1st European Olympic Games at the highest level.

Organization of these Games in Baku would contribute to strengthening of our country’s state policy pursued in the sphere of sport and physical training, increasing Azerbaijan’s international influence further and its taking an essential place in the world of sport.

Being guided by Para 32, Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and with the objective of worthily organizing the 1st European Olympic Games in 2015 in the city of Baku, I decided:

1. to establish an Organising Committee for holding the 1st European Olympic Games in June-July 2015 in the city of Baku to be comprised of the following:

2. The Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan to developed, together with the Baku City Executive Authority and the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a Special Actions Plan on holding the 1st European Olympic Games, and to submit to the Organising Committee.

3. The Organising Committee to solve necessary matters associated with the holding of the 1st European Olympic Games in 2015 in Baku.

4. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to solve matters arising from this Resolution.
