On June 22, the rhythmic gymnastics competitions of the first Republican Schoolchildren’s Sports Olympiad began at the Baku Olympic Sports Complex. The Olympiad is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the support of the Baku City Circuit Operations Company and the relevant sports federations.

A total of 60 gymnasts representing sports schools from across Azerbaijan are competing in the event. Participants include athletes from the Sumgayit Olympic Reserve Sports School, Ganja Youth Sports School, Shusha Youth Sports School, Zagatala Youth Sports School, as well as BGM and RKIM representing Baku.

Throughout the competition, gymnasts perform routines with no apparatus, ribbon, hoop, ball and clubs, demonstrating their technical skills, flexibility, artistry and overall preparation. On the opening day, gymnasts born in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 competed across various apparatus and age categories.

Following the conclusion of the first day, the winners were determined in several categories.

3rd place: Narmin Babayeva (BGM)

1st place: Hajar Habibbeyli (RKIM)
2nd place: Zumrud Mammadova (BGM)
3rd place: Khanim Rizali (BGM)

All-Around – Group A (2014)
1st place: Aylin Novruzova (Ganja Youth Sports School)
2nd place: Madina Huseynova (BGM)
3rd place: Lala Novruzova (BGM)

All-Around – Group A (2015)
1st place: Fidan Huseynli (RKIM)
2nd place: Adelina Shichitikova (BGM)
3rd place: Kamilla Baghirova (Shusha Youth Sports School)

The competition will continue on June 23 with the final stage, bringing the rhythmic gymnastics events of the first Republican Schoolchildren’s Sports Olympiad to a close.
