Our national team members won 9 medals at 3 international competitions

 

From April 12 to 14, our national team members made a memorable impact at three different international competitions. Over the past week, our athletes secured a total of 8 gold and 1 silver medal in events held in Kyrgyzstan, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. Here is a summary of the results achieved by our gymnasts, who won 8 gold medals in rhythmic gymnastics and 1 silver medal in aerobic gymnastics.

At the “Kelechek” international competition in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, three members of our national team achieved remarkable results. In the junior individual program, Mədinə Abbaslı, Zəhra Cəfərova, and Şəms Müvəffəqi outperformed all their competitors, earning a total of 8 gold medals. Mədinə Abbaslı secured a gold medal with a score of 76.500 points in the all-around competition. Zəhra Cəfərova brought home 2 gold medals for our team with a score of 100.700 points in the all-around and ball routines. The highest score was achieved by our team member Şəms Müvəffəqi, who scored 106.250 points across the all-around, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon events, securing her place at the top of the podium with a total of 5 gold medals.

In parallel with the “Kelechek” competition, our junior national team participated in the “Slovak Aerobic Open” held in Bratislava, Slovakia. Five members of our team—Fidan İbrahimova, Leyla Əhmədova, Evelina Kozlovskaya, Məryəm Topçubaşova, and Sara Əlixanlı—collected 18.100 points in their group routine, winning our second silver medal. Additionally, Sara Əlixanlı competed in the individual events, where her performance was scored at 17.150 points, placing her in 9th place.

Simultaneously, members of our senior national team, İlona Zeynalova and Mədinə Dəmirova, showcased their skills in the rhythmic gymnastics World Cup held in Sofia, Bulgaria. A total of 57 athletes from 43 countries participated in the competition.
