National competitions continued with two more gymnastics disciplines

On November 1 and 2, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation continued the national competition season with two exciting gymnastics disciplines at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex.

Gymnastics enthusiasts witnessed the interesting performances and bold competitions of athletes at the 7th Azerbaijan Championship and Open Baku Championship in aerobics gymnastics, as well as the 28th Azerbaijan Championship and Open Baku Championship in acrobatic gymnastics.

In the aerobics gymnastics competitions, 110 gymnasts from the “Ocaq Sport” Club, “Grasiya” Sports Club, and Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex competed for medals. Athletes performed in the 7th Azerbaijan Championship in the age categories of youth (2009-2011), juniors (2006-2008), and adults (2005 and older), while in the Open Baku Championship, they competed in the categories of toddlers (2015-2016), children (2012-2014), youth (2009-2011), and juniors (2006-2008).

Winners were determined in accordance with their age categories in individual, mixed pairs, trio, and group programs.

In the 28th Azerbaijan Championship and Open Baku Championship in acrobatic gymnastics, 68 athletes represented the “Ocaq Sport” Club, Specialized Olympic Reserve Children and Youth Gymnastics School (BGM), “Neftchi” Sports Club, and the Nizami District Specialized Olympic Reserve Children and Youth Sports School No. 13.

In the competition, women's pairs (children - 2007-2012; toddlers - 2008-2017; youth - 2005-2011; adults - 2008 and older), men's pairs (adults - 2008 and older), mixed pairs (toddlers - 2008-2017; youth - 2005-2011; adults - 2008 and older), and women's groups (children - 2007-2012; toddlers - 2008-2017; youth - 2005-2011; juniors - 2004-2010) competed for medals in balance, tempo, and mixed movement programs.

The participation of our athletes, who recently brought a record number of medals to our country at the European Championship held in Varna, Bulgaria, added a more intense competition to the championship. Their performances, rich in difficult elements that demonstrated strength and determination, captured everyone's attention.

With this, the AGF successfully concluded national competitions in two more disciplines. You can find the final results of the competition on the agf.az website.
