Summer Olympic Games Paris-2024, which athletes are eagerly waiting for, is approaching. Athletes must first have Olympic qualifications to demonstrate their high skills in Paris. As it is known, the first international gymnastics competition of the year, the FIG Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling World Cup will start tomorrow in Azerbaijan. It is this competition that will earn license points for the Olympic Games in Trampoline Gymnastics.
It should be noted that a total of 32 athletes (16 men and 16 women) will compete for the Olympics Championships in the Trampoline competitions to be held in Paris. At last year’s World Championships held in Birmingham (Great Britain), representatives of only five countries among men and women qualified for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games.
The World Cup to be held in Baku will be one of the two-year Olympic qualification competitions. As a continuation of the World Cup held in Coimbra (Portugal) last year, athletes will be able to earn qualification points for the Olympic Games.
The Olympic ranking will be determined based on each gymnast's best year performance in five qualifying events. Only the three highest-ranked male and female athletes in the decisive qualification list will be eligible to claim a second quota place for their country at Paris-2024. Provided that the representative of the respective country has already qualified for the 2023 Worlds.
The FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup is considered to be the most licensed competition for Paris 2024 among all competitions on the Trampoline calendar.
World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Cottbus (Germany) on March 22-24 will be the last chance to earn Olympic qualification points. Continents that fail to qualify through the World Cups will get a chance to qualify for the Olympic Games at the upcoming Continental Championships. It should be mentioned that so far only the representatives of the People's Republic of China and Great Britain have qualified a male and a female Trampoline gymnast to Paris-2024.
