Draw ceremony held for the 39th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships to be hosted in Azerbaijan

Today, the draw ceremony for the 39th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships, which will be held in our country from May 17 to 21, took place at the Shahdag Mountain Resort.

The event was attended by Evangelia Trikomiti, President of the European Gymnastics Technical Committee for Rhythmic Gymnastics; committee members Yelena Aliprandi, Evgenia Vilyayeva, Eliso Bedoshvili, Alexandra Piscupescu, Isabel de Cossio, and Kristiana Todorova; Mariana Vasileva, member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports; Nurlana Mammadzade, AGF Secretary General; Natalia Bulanova, Sports Director; and other officials. It is noteworthy that, for the first time, a draw ceremony for a major gymnastics event initiated by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation has been held outside the capital Baku, in the regions of the country. To recall, the decision to hold the European Championships in Azerbaijan was made through voting at the Executive Committee meeting of European Gymnastics, held on July 16 last year at its headquarters in Lausanne. This will be the fifth time Azerbaijan hosts the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships.

Previously, our capital city Baku hosted the continental championship in 2007, 2009, 2014 and 2019.
