On the second day of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, held at the National Gymnastics Arena with the participation of 135 gymnasts from 40 countries, Azerbaijan’s group team secured a bronze medal in the all-around competition. The team — comprised of Gullu Aghalarzade, Leman Alimuradova, Kamilla Aliyeva, Zeynab Hummatova, Yelizaveta Luzan, and Darya Sorokina — achieved a total score of 65.750, placing third overall.
It’s worth noting that on the previous day, our gymnasts also placed third in the 5 hoops routine with 33.500 points, and today, they ranked second in the 3 ribbons and 2 balls routine with a score of 32.250, successfully qualifying for the apparatus finals.
The day also saw the individual all-around winners determined. Representing Azerbaijan in the individual program, Zohra Aghamirova and Alina Gozelova performed routines with clubs and ribbon. Aghamirova ranked sixth with clubs (30.800) and secured a spot in the final, while she finished ninth with ribbon (29.400). In the overall all-around ranking, she totaled 122.050 points, finishing in eighth place.
As for Alina Gozelova, she placed 27th overall, finishing 27th with ribbon and 33rd with clubs.
Tomorrow, both the individual gymnasts and group teams will compete in the apparatus finals. Zohra Aghamirova will perform with the ball and clubs, while the group team will present routines with 5 hoops and 3 ribbons + 2 balls.
The World Cup will conclude tomorrow.
