The flag was presented to Altay Hasanov, the vice-president of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, as a sign that the European Championships-2014 will take place in Baku.

Baku will host the European Championships on June 13-15, 2014. The competitions will be held at the Olympic Gymnastics Complex which is under construction at present and to be fully ready by the time of the competition`s start.

240 gymnasts and 80 officials are expected to participate in the Championships. This is the third Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics to be held in the capital of Azerbaijan.

We would like to mention that the Azerbaijani Rhythmic Gymnastics National Team completed the European Championships winning the silver medals.

The junior team of our gymnasts phenomenally performed its exercise in the final having received quite high points from the judges - 16.55.

This result enabled the Azerbaijani gymnasts to win the silver medals.

Our individual gymnasts also competed in all four finals of the European Championships-2013. The best result was shown by Marina Durunda (the fifth places).
