This morning, the honored figure of physical training and sports of Azerbaijan, the Vice-president of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, the head of gymnastics faculty, a professor Bahram Ahmad oghlu Narimanov has passed away at the age of 77 after a long-lasting disease. Bahram Narimanov liked to live very much. He devoted his life to his favorite job – to the development of acrobatics. Being always with a smile and moderately facetious, and, at the same time serious, Mr. Narimanov, could suggest, could find the right words to which people listened to and these words had a power to convince.
We will always feel the absence of this pure soul, wise interlocutor and the person who perfectly knew his favorite job.

Narimanov Bahram Ahmad oghlu was born in Baku on May 6, 1934.
He graduated from the Azerbaijani State Institute of Physical Training in 1957. Since then, he began his work activity as a teacher at the faculty of “Gymnastics and its methods”; a senior teacher - since 1962; the head of the faculty – since 1973.
In the course of his work experience, he also took up a post as the chairman of the Trade Union of the Azerbaijani State Institute of Physical Training (1973-1981), as the dean of the pedagogical faculty.
Since 1957, B.Narimanov started his scientific work. He defended a thesis in Moscow in 1981; he received a candidate degree of pedagogical science; he had a docent status since 1984.
B.Narimanov was a member of the Research-and-methodical and Objective Commission of the Committee for Physical Training and Sports of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1979-1987.
He was an author of more than 80 published scientific works, including gymnastics manuals, training aids and methodological recommendations.
In 1995, the Higher Certifying Commission, under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, gave B. Narimanov Honorary Professor Status for scientific and public work carried our by him.
For the first time in history of Azerbaijan, he received the title of master of sports in acrobatic gymnastics (1958), was an honorary master of sports of the USSR (1962), a prize-winner of sports and athletics meeting of the USSR’s Trade Union (1957) and the Soviet Union’s Championship (1958).
He became a champion of the Azerbaijan Republic 16 times (1952-1968).
B.Narimanov was the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team in 1959-1972; he prepared a great number of masters of sports of the USSR, Azerbaijani champions and prize-winners of the USSR’s Championships.
For these achievements, he was given a title of the Honored Coach of the Azerbaijan Republic in 1962; the title of the distinguished person in physical training and sports of the USSR in 1964.
In 1960-1972 and in 1994-2000 B.Narimanov was the chairman of Azerbaijan Sports Acrobatics Federation; then he took up a post as the Vice-President of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
He was a member of the Acrobatics Federation of the USSR in 1961-1990. In 1993, the International Sports Acrobatics Federation awarded him with a medal and diploma for the great role in development of acrobatics in the world.
B.Narimanov was a judge of All-Union (1973) and international (1994) categories. He was a member of the Olympic Academy of the Azerbaijan Republic.
He was an author of scripts and producer of numerous gymnastics performances in Azerbaijan. He was an honored figure of physical training and sports of Azerbaijan since 1991.
Taking into account his services in development of physical culture and sports in Azerbaijan, B.Narimanov was awarded with the “Shohrat” (“Glory”) order and became a presidential exhibitioner according to the presidents’ decrees.
