UEG TECHNICAL COMMITTEE’S MEETING AND CASTING OF LOTS OF EURO-2009 TO BE HELD IN BAKU

Firstly, Manfred Kucht, the director of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG), and Heide Bruneder, the president of the technical committee in rhythmic gymnastics of the given union, will take part in the meeting of the Championships’ Organizing Committee. The issues of participants’ accreditation and accommodation, doping control and TV broadcast, sports complex’s equipping and report in the course of preparation for the championships and other subjects to be discussed during this meeting.

Secondly, Bruneder will hold a Technical Committee’s meeting, in the course of which she, together with her colleagues, will approve the championships’ schedule and arrival days of participants and honorary guests. A special attention will be given to the tournament’s format, number of gymnasts and the junior group teams’ compositions.

Finally, an important event will be a casting of lots of the European Championships to be held by the Technical Committee’s members. By the way, another 3 states – Spain, Georgia and Turkey joined to the 31 countries-participants of Euro-2009. Thus, gymnasts of 33 countries will perform in the individual tournament, and the continent’s 19 teams will take part in the junior group teams’ events.

As to our gymnasts, all the leaders of Azerbaijani national team – a European champion Aliya Garayeva, bronze medalists of the World Championships Anna Gurbanova and Zeynab Javadli, as well as a bronze medalist of the planet’s championships among clubs, Samira Mustafayeva, are preparing their programs for the new competitive season. According to their coaches, all the exercises are new and quite complicated; moreover, the clubs were replaced by a ball.

According to the head coach of Azerbaijani national team, Mariana Vasileva, the country’s junior group team also holds an intensified training. The Bulgarian specialist presented a new program with 5 ribbons under the Gypsy music for the following gymnasts: Sabina Abbasova, Ayelita Khalafova, Nigar Abdusalimova, Yevgeniya Jidkova (all born in 1994), Kamila Mammadova (1995), as well as two reserve gymnasts Nargiz Aliyeva (1994) and Lala Maharramova (1995).
