From December 8 to 11, the city of Sheki, one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan, which fascinates with its beauty and nature, hosted joint competitions dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the reorganization of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
The joint competitions held in 6 types of gymnastics were the second competition organized by the federation in Sheki after the Friendship Competition dedicated to the May 28 Independence Day in rhythmic gymnastics in May.
For the first time, within the framework of joint competitions held not in the capital, but in the region, the participants had the opportunity to test their strength in the 27th Azerbaijan Championship in artistic gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics, the 6th in women's artistic gymnastics, trampoline gymnastics, the 18th Azerbaijan Championship in tumbling, the 27th in rhythmic gymnastics, and the 6th in aerobic gymnastics.
As we reported, during the opening ceremony of the competitions held at the Sheki Olympic Sports Complex on December 9, the gala show presented to the audience by local and world-famous gymnastics stars gave fans interesting moments that they will remember for a long time.
In the joint competitions, the winners in aerobics and acrobatic gymnastics were first determined. In the aerobics gymnastics competitions, the Azerbaijani champions were determined among children (pair, individual men and women, trio), children (individual women, group, trio), teenagers (individual women, group, trio), and youth (individual women).
In the acrobatic gymnastics competitions, the winners were determined by competing in the men's and women's pairs, women's group and mixed pairs programs, and the teenagers in the women's pair, women's group and mixed pairs programs.
The most graceful representatives of gymnastics, rhythmic gymnasts, who demonstrated their skills on the Sheki stage, fought for medals in the junior (group and individual, 2012, 2013, 2014), junior and youth programs.
In trampoline gymnastics and tumbling competitions, juniors, youth and adults competed for first place in the individual men's and women's programs.
In women's artistic gymnastics competitions, the strongest were determined in the individual programs of the juniors and youth age categories, and in men's artistic gymnastics competitions, the strongest in the individual programs of the seniors and youth age categories.
Thus, the joint gymnastics competitions of the anniversary year, which were remembered for their interesting moments, ended successfully.
With the aim of popularizing gymnastics, increasing interest in this type and its mass appeal, holding local competitions in the region once again confirmed that it is a continuation of the successful tradition of developing gymnastics in the regions.
