On July 7, the XI World Games commenced in the city of Birmingham in the state of Alabama (USA). At the multi-sport games, in which representatives of 103 countries take part in 36 sports disciplines, our country is represented in two gymnastics disciplines - Rhythmic and Aerobic Gymnastics. It is gratifying that the Azerbaijani Aerobic Dance team consisting of Aykhan Ahmadli, Rauf Haciyev, Nigar Mir Jalalli, Nazrin Mustafayeva, Madina Mustafayeva, Sanan Mahmudlu, Khadija Guliyeva and Vladimir Dolmatov, who joined the competition on July 12, won the Bronze medal. It should be mentioned that this is the first medal won by the Azerbaijani team at the XI World Games.
Zohra Aghamirova - winner of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, two-time Silver medalist of the Summer Universiade, participant of the Tokyo-2020 Summer Olympic Games, performed at the competitions in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Although our gymnast managed to reach the final with a Hoop, she ranked 5th in the Finals. Today, our athlete will perform with a Ribbon and Clubs in the Finals.
Our Group in Aerobic Gymnastics - Vladimir Dolmatov, Madina Mustafayeva, Khadija Guliyeva, Imran Imranov and Khoshgadam Guliyeva will test their strength at the Games.
