An Azerbaijani gymnast Zeynab Javadli has become a bronze medalist of the international tournament in Omsk.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, the 18-year-old sportswoman of Baku took the third place after
the final exercise with a rope.
“It was the last event of the parting year and I am glad that I was able to make my fans happy. I also performed at three other
finals, where I became the fourth with a hoop and a ball, and fifth with a ribbon. My coach is content with my results. On my return
to the training camp in Novogorsk situated near Moscow, we will begin to prepare for a new season, namely, we will change the
competing programs,” the gymnast said.
And a Russian Yevgeniya Kanayeva became the winner in the all-around of the tournament held in Omsk, where Javadli gave the 4th
result.
The final round of the “Serie A” Italian RG Championship was also the final competition of the current year for the leading
Azerbaijani gymnasts Aliya Garayeva and Anna Gurbanova.
Garayeva’s “Ardor” team performed in the “Serie A2” where it took the 5th place as a result. Our gymnast has a great service in this
achievement. In the final, she performed with a rope, and having received 26.0 points she became the second in this exercise after a
Belarusian Lubov Cherkashina.
Gurbanova performed with a hoop in the “Serie A1” and received 25.25 points, and it was the fourth result among the gymnasts
performing with this apparatus. According to the championship’s overall results, Anna’s “Comense” club took the 8th place, thus
having kept the positions in the first division for the next season. And “Armonia” club leaded by a Russian Olga Struchkova became
the champion of Italy.
