Zohra Aghamirova wins 2 silver and 1 bronze medal at the 31st Summer World University Games

Artistic gymnastics competitions at the 31st Summer World University Games, which began on July 28 in Chengdu, China, concluded today.

Experienced Azerbaijani gymnast Zohra Aghamirova secured her spot in three apparatus finals - Hoop, Clubs and Ribbon — and contributed three medals to the national team’s tally (2 silver, 1 bronze). A bronze medalist at this year’s European Championships held in Azerbaijan, Zohra scored 31.800 points in the Hoop final, winning her a silver medal. In the Clubs final, she received 30.850 points from the judges, claiming another silver. Her performance with the Ribbon earned her 29.150 points and a bronze medal.

It’s worth noting that at the 30th Summer Universiade held in Naples, Italy, in 2019, Zohra also claimed two silver medals (clubs and all-around).

Gymnastics competitions continue as part of the Universiade. From August 1–5, Azerbaijan will be represented in artistic gymnastics by Nikita Simonov and Ivan Tikhonov.
