After the 39th European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, which will not be erased from memory for a long time, it is planned to organize another international-level event in Azerbaijan.
The 1st Baku Gym For All International Challenge, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, will attract attention with its different style on June 17-18.
Up to 500 athletes from 46 teams representing Azerbaijan, Georgia & Lithuania will demonstrate their performances at the International “Challenge”, which will be held at National Seaside Park (behind the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre). Along with the capital, athletes from 20 regions of our country will test their strength at this “Challenge”.
The event will take place with a march in of participants from the territory of “Deniz Mall” to the area behind the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater building. The colorful performances of the teams to the sound of music will give pleasant moments to the guests and residents of our city.
Within the framework of the International “Challenge”, it is planned to hold master classes in Gymnastics for All, exemplary performances in Breakdance and holding a flashmob with the audience.
The special guest of the Gala-show to be held on June 18 will be the winner of the “Eurovision” song contest - Eldar Gasimov. With his performance, he will add a special color to the event.
It should be mentioned that residents of the social service institution for the elderly of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and the mixed-type orphanage named after O. Mirzayev of Lankaran city will participate in the competition for the first time.
Gymnastics for all, which is a non-competitive Gymnastics discipline with great popularity in the world, is one of the newly developing sports disciplines in Azerbaijan. Everyone can be engaged in this Gymnastics discipline regardless of age, appearance and physical skills. There are two FIG events in this gymnastics discipline: the World Gymnaestrada and the World Gym for Life Challenge which are held at four-year interval.
With the participation of Azerbaijani gymnasts at the 15th World Gymnaestrada held in Helsinki (Finland) in 2015, “Gymnastics for All” was officially included into the AGF activity.
