After the seminar held at the National Gymnastics Arena on January 26-27 by Prof. Dr. Patrick Siegfried, a member of the European Gymnastics Technical Committee for Trampoline Gymnastics, we present to you the interview.
What can you say about your seminar in Azerbaijan?
- I have been involved in Trampoline Gymnastics since 1981. I organize seminars for athletes and coaches. This course was prepared a year ago. I had discussions with the Sports Academy and the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. We decided to hold joint courses.
What do you think about the potential of Azerbaijani Trampoline Gymnasts?
- They are very talented. Young athletes should pay more attention to their performances and showcase all their skills. It is very important to build a strong foundation from the very first courses. You have many young athletes and they should focus on the complexity of movements.
What would you highlight as unusual in your practical training sessions?
In this course, I aimed to focus on movement combinations and include game-like exercises for beginners. This approach is very beneficial for athletes and will help their development.
We have heard that in Germany, it is common to involve parents in children's training. Is this true?
- Yes, it is a normal practice. Parents join training sessions with their children. We even allow them to try the Trampoline. They need to understand that this sport is not as easy as it seems.
