The representatives of Rhythmic Gymnastics, which is one of the most favorite gymnastics disciplines, glorifying courage and determination along with elegance & art, will be guests of our capital again.
Within the framework of the international competitions held in our country, “Milli Gimnastika Arenasi” (National Gymnastics Arena) will host the 3rd AGF Trophy International Tournament in Rhythmic Gymnastics approved by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) on April 14-16.
At this year’s event, where 119 gymnasts from 14 countries will participate in, along with the junior Rhythmic gymnasts, senior athletes will join the competitions.
A total of 38 gymnasts, including 20 Individual (6 senior & 14 junior athletes) and 18 gymnasts within Group Teams (1 senior & 2 juniors in Group Exercises), will represent Azerbaijan in the tournament.
Our experienced athlete, participant of the Tokyo-2020 Summer Olympic Games, winner & Silver medalist of the 34th International Grand Prix, four-time winner of the Islamic Solidarity Games, two-time Silver medalist of the Summer Universiade - Zohra Aghamirova, winner of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games - Alina Gozalova and our Prize-winners of a number of international tournaments among juniors will demonstrate their performances.
Members of our senior National Team in Group Exercises, Bronze medalists of the World Championships, three-time Bronze medalists of the European Championships, two-time winners & Silver medalists of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games - Gullu Aghalarzade, Laman Alimuradova, Kamilla Aliyeva, Zeynab Hummatova, Yelyzaveta Luzan and Darya Sorokina will perform at this competition.
In addition, two junior teams will represent our country in Group Exercises.
It should be mentioned that Azerbaijan hosted the AGF Junior Trophy International Tournament for the first time in 2018, and, then, in 2019.
For our seniors, this competition will also be some kind of a test before the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which will be held immediately at the same place on April 21-23.
During these three-day competitions, the participants will compete in both individual & group events.
The winners will be defined in separate Apparatus, Team & All-Around competitions.
