The Academy of International Gymnastics Federations is running the coaches’ courses of Level 1 in Azerbaijan for the first time.
Today, the Academy’s three experts – the course’s leader Nota Klentrou (Canada), Nadya Aleksandrova (Great Britain) and Helena Diaz (Portugal) have commenced their lectures for 17 participants.
“There are three levels at the Academy. Courses are being held at present, are assigned for the first level. The courses’ objective is to raise the standard of coaching methodology,” N. Klentrou announced at the opening.
According to her, there are coaches in Azerbaijan who have already taken the courses of different levels successfully. This is one of the coaches of the Azerbaijani national team Natalya Bulanova holding the Category 3, as well as Anastasiya Prasolova who assists the national team’s head coach within the base in Baku and Kamilla Mammadova who leads the rhythmic gymnastics section in Gusar (both – Level 1).
According to the Canadian expert, rhythmic gymnastics has developed in Azerbaijan enough well. The one-week workshop held in Baku is aimed for the specialists-beginners and gymnasts stopped their sports career and wishing to switch over to coaching.
Theoretical and practical exams will be held upon the courses’ completion. Specialists, who take an examination, will get certificates of the international level.
