The 12th FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions

About competition

On March 3-6, our capital city of Baku will host the 12th FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions. 438 gymnasts from 24 countries will take part in the competition organized by Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) for the first time.
Gymnasts will compete within Men's Pairs, Women's Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Men's Groups, Women's Groups in Balance, Dynamic and Combined exercises in the 12-18 and 13-19 age groups.
Azerbaijan will be represented by Men’s Pair - Rasul Seyidli, Ravan Zeynalli, Women’s Pair - Nazrin Gasimova, Xanim Mammadzada, Mixed Pair - Milana Aliyeva, Nizam Khamidulin, Women’s Group - Anahita Bashiri, Zahra Rashidova and Nazrin Zeyniyeva in the 12-18 age group, while Leyla Bashirova, Nazrin Farmanova and Mansuma Mammadzada will compete in the 13-19 age group within Women’s Pair.
It should be mentioned that our country hosted the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup for the first time in 2018.
The 11th FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions, held in Geneva (Switzerland) last year, was remembered with the Bronze medal won by our representatives. Our Women’s Group consisting of Mansuma Mammadzada, Leyla Bashirova and Nazrin Farmanova (gymnasts aged 12-19) mounted the 3rd step in the Final for the program of combined exercises.
This was the first medal won within Women's Group at the World Age Group Competitions in history of Azerbaijani Gymnastics. Our Mixed Pair consisting of Milana Aliyeva and Nizam Khamidulin (12-19 age group) reached the Final of this competition and took the 5th place. In 2021, Milan and Nizam won silver medal at the European Age Group Competitions held in Pesaro (Italy). Our women's group also won a bronze medal at the European Championship organized right after those competitions.
The events will be held without participation of spectators with the special Authorization of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the current quarantine rules and sanitary and epidemiological requirements applied in our country.
